The dollarization of Ecuador�s and El Salvador�s economies, in 2000 and 2001, respectively, and the fixed exchange rate system convertibilidad in Argentina, has generated an intense debate about dollarization in Latin America in recent years. This paper analyzes the performance of strictly dollarized economies in Latin America, specifically in terms of growth volatility. Using a technique commonly used in applied microeconometrics known as �difference in differences�.
